Rewards of Righteousness: Peace, Joy, and Generational Blessing
What “Righteous” Really Means
Right standing with God. That’s it. “Anytime people say, ‘What’s righteous? Can anyone live a righteous life?’ Yes—I am right standing with God.” Your sins are forgiven through Jesus Christ. When you complicate the Word, people get confused. Faith comes by hearing—and understanding—by the Word of God. The good news is: you are made right standing with God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
“In the same way, Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith… so it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. The Scriptures say, ‘It is through faith that a righteous person has life.’” — Galatians 3:6, 10–11 (NLT)
“For he hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
Jesus is the difference maker—He is the separation between light and darkness. When you get saved, your life looks drastically different. There’s fruit—the fruit of righteousness. Your life is called to produce fruit.
The Kingdom Package: Righteousness, Peace, and Joy
“The kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.” When you’re in right standing with God, you have peace and you have joy.
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 14:17 (NLT)
Jesus said, “My peace I leave with you.” He wasn’t stressed. He walked in peace. Religion is the only thing that has a problem with you having peace. Peace belongs to you in every area—home, marriage, children, finances, when you wake up and when you go to sleep—peace that passes all understanding.
“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows… the chastisement for our peace was upon him; and by his stripes we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:4–5 (KJV)
That word “chastisement” means the blows that were due to you landed on Him. Substitution. He took what was due you so you could take His peace.
Joy isn’t worked up. It’s supernatural. “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” When the joy of the Lord hits you, it gives you strength. Church should be the place where burdens come off, not on. Run on that peace and joy—it’s part of your kingdom package.
The Consequences Are Gone
If your sins are washed away, the consequences are washed away, too. They’re thrown into the sea of forgetfulness—not covered, washed away. Don’t pray like you still have to pay for the old man. It’s not on your account anymore.
“When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.” — Hebrews 1:3 (NLT)
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law—sickness and disease, poverty and lack, spiritual death. You are debt-free in Christ. Keep living in holiness and don’t go back—that’s not you anymore.
Righteousness Engenders Generational Blessing
Abraham believed God, it was counted to him as righteousness, and the blessing followed. Obedience is better than sacrifice. When you’re in right standing with God, you’re in line for the blessing.
“Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house… He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.” — Psalm 112:1–3, 7 (KJV)
The wicked will gnash their teeth. Let them. The blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow. Sorrow-free blessing is your portion.
Flourish
“The righteous shall flourish.” You’re called to be fruitful, to multiply, to be a visible difference between those who serve God and those who don’t—tangibly, practically, materially.
“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.” — Psalm 92:12 (KJV)
From today on, stop seeing yourself as the same as the unsaved. You belong to God. Everything God gave to Abraham, He gives to you in Christ. “It’s mine.” Hallelujah.
